Grace Christian and Linh Tran, incoming juniors at Notre Dame Prep School, entered the studio today to start working out parts for their collection of original songs, to be recorded over the course of the next month. Both are accomplished pianists and vocalists in their own rights, and have been working together on music throughout high school. Grace's mind-blowing soprano voice draws comparisons to Feist, Fiona Apple, and Florence Welch, to name a few, which comes in contrast to the raspier, soulful lower register that Linh thrives in.
The duo originally planned to focus on doing covers, but upon revealing their original compositions, they decided to dedicate themselves to their own personal music at the urging of the producers. Angelo and Elie saw an unbelievable amount of potential in the tunes Grace and Linh brought to the table and look forward to facilitating the evolution of their songs into full band arrangements. Grace and Linh will begin formal recording of the tracks following a couple more sessions of planning out the details of the songs' structure and instrumentation. The good friends have yet to decide whether they will each be releasing material as a pairing or in the form of two separate solo projects based on who has written the songs. Some combination thereof, in which solo projects would be complemented by some sort of joint venture is yet another possibility to be decided upon in the near future.
One Stone is ever so grateful to have these two talented musicians/singers on board and cannot wait to take their music to the next level (where it undoubtedly deserves to be). Don't be surprised if their music is reaching a much wider audience in the near future.
