One Stone Acquires Wurlitzer & Nord Stage II Keyboards

Thanks to a generous donation by Roman Serbyn, One Stone studios has become the proud owner of a vintage 1952 Wurlitzer keyboard. Producers Angelo Munafo and Elie Rizk look forward to recording the classic instrument, which produces a faint acoustic sound from mallets that strike reeds inside the capsule and then amplifies itself with electric power. While an original Wurlitzer would be a welcome addition to any studio, it finds an even more perfect home at a place like One Stone that cherishes vintage recording and seeks to emulate “classic” sounds in much of its work. Moreover, some of those attempts at replication can be cast aside now in favor of the real deal. The studio is truly fortunate to find a fully functioning “Wurly” that's never had any work done on it.

On the absolute flip side of the technological spectrum, the studio also just added a brand new Nord Stage II to its recording arsenal. Widely considered to be the best “all-in-one” keyboard on the market today, the top of the line Nord offers an incredible variety of the highest quality effects. In addition to a fantastic suite of factory/downloadable tones, the Nord is famous for enabling artists to invent virtually any unique sounding effect that their mind could think of. This keyboard opens up a myriad of recording possibilities, providing One Stone with the set of tools needed to realize the visions of a wider range of artists (ie: pop, experimental, etc…). With the pre-eminent live performance keyboard on hand and ready for any artist to use, the prospects of recording at One Stone just got a whole lot more glamorous.
