Elie Rizk to Open for Reggie Watts

Breaking news out of One Stone Studios: the University of Maryland's Student Entertainment Events (SEE) just confirmed Elie as the opening act for renowned musical comedian Reggie Watts. Rizk & Watts will perform at UMD on Friday, September 11 in The Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center's Kay Theater as part of NextNOW Fest 2015!

Watts can check off every box from standup veteran to internet sensation to late-night star. In addition to his appearances on Comedy Central and videos with millions of hits on Youtube, Reggie has been the leader of the house band on The Late Late Show with James Corden since it took Craig Ferguson's slot on CBS earlier this year. Known for experimental (yet technically impressive) performances that are guided primarily by the vibe in the room, Reggie falls right in line with Elie's own method of operation.

SEE first caught a glimpse of our very own Elie Rizk during his "one-man-band" talent show performance last spring at UMD, when he brought the house down with a searing rendition of Seven Nation Army (sung and accompanied by acoustic guitar, harmonica, bass drum, & high hat). Elie will likely be performing solo in a similarly impressive fashion for the show this September. Rizk is slated to go on around 8 PM, followed by Watts at 9:00. Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to this exciting event!
